Ellen Wood – CPA
Originally from Connecticut, Ellen earned her BFA in violin performance from the State University of NY (SUNY) at Purchase, NY. She earned her MBA from Loyola College, then worked at Price Waterhouse, both in Baltimore, MD, before migrating south with her husband. Ellen earned her CPA license while working with McNair, McLemore, Middlebrooks in Macon. She left MMM to raise 3 children and start her own company. She has been honored to take leadership at Hopkins & Associates, after working with Al Hopkins and Bob Buckley for several years. As a CPA with 25+ years of experience, Ellen has specialized in services to individuals, small and medium sized businesses, as well as non-profits. She is certified in grant management, non-profit leadership and management. Ellen and her husband of more than 30 years enjoy spending time on their farm with their children & spouses and grandchildren in Lizella. Ellen is active in her community, church, and ministry. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Rhonda Clater – CPA, CGMA
Rhonda has worked in both the public accounting and private accounting sectors for 25+ years. Most recently, she was the Chief Financial Officer for a multi-million dollar privately-held corporation in the middle Georgia area before starting her own fractional CFO firm. Rhonda’s range of industry accounting experience includes software developers, property and casualty insurance, healthcare, and construction to name a few. She performs audits, prepares tax returns, and works with small to medium size businesses as a fractional CFO. Rhonda holds an MBA from Mercer University and a BS in Business and Information Technology concentrating in Accounting from Middle Georgia State University. Prior to moving to Forsyth, she served the Peach County community through leadership roles at her church, Rotary Club of Byron, and the Peach County Chamber of Commerce. She is the honored recipient of a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, the Peach County Chamber of Commerce Pat Joiner Peavy Award, and the Macon State College School of Business Distinguished Alumnus Award. Rhonda enjoys spending time with her husband, Tom, and their five children and three grandchildren.
Sandi Passmore – Client Bookkeeper
Sandi moved to Forsyth from West Virginia. She graduated from Oak Hill Vocational Technical School in secretarial/bookkeeping studies. She began working with Robert L. Buckley, CPA in 1992 and the rest is history! Her job responsibilities include monthly bookkeeping and payroll, preparing preliminary tax returns, and secretarial duties, as well as being a Notary Public.
Jenny Hopkins – Office Manager/Client Bookkeeper
A business graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Master studies at Mercer University, Jenny brings to the firm over 35 years of experience in the fields of accounting, law, collections, and insurance. She has been with Hopkins & Associates since 2008.
Rachel Corbin – Client Bookkeeper
Born and raised in Forsyth, Rachel is a recent graduate of Georgia College and State University with a B.B.A. in Accounting. She joined Hopkins & Associates in August 2018 as their new bookkeeper. Rachel enjoys learning and working with the great team at Hopkins & Associates, as well as getting to know their clients.
Megan Wood – Client Bookkeeper
Megan joined the team in 2019 when she decided to follow in her Mother in Law, Ellen Wood’s, footsteps. She is now pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in accounting at MGSU. Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and their two kids, Emory and Sawyer. Megan is eager to learn all the familiar faces and get to know the people who make Forsyth so great!
Jill Lumley – Client Bookkeeper
Jill has worked for small, medium, and publicly traded organizations where she has gained over 22 years of experience in financial statement preparation. She holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Wesleyan College in Macon and an undergraduate degree in business from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Jill’s accounting experience also includes a comprehensive range of knowledge in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation and auditing. She moved to Monroe County in 2009 where she happily lives with her husband and three children.
Melinda Kilgore – Administrative Assistant
Melinda joined the firm in 2012. She brings more than 30 years of office management experience to the team. Melinda is the smiling face that greets you when you stop by our office.
Sara Reed – Office Assistant
Sara joined Hopkins & Associates in 2018 as an office assistant, facilitating workflow through data entry and processing as well as front office support. In 2013, Sara retired from her career as an investment consultant in Atlanta and relocated to Monroe County with her husband where the two of them enjoy the less stressful pace of Middle Georgia. Sara brings over 30 years of experience in financial management to the firm. She graduated from the University of California-Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics.
Diane Knapp – Office Assistant
After retiring with 35 years of software development and database management experience, Diane decided to return back to work part time. Having a past interest in accounting, she took some classes and found a new path at Hopkins & Assoicates.
